Dunkin' hit with conservative backlash
WASHINGTON (TND) — Dunkin' Donuts is facing a boycott from MAGA influencers and conservatives after the fast-food chain allegedly refused to advertise on Rumble because of the "right-wing culture."
Rumble CEO Chris Pavolovski claimed on social media platform X that the company refused to advertise saying "the right-wing culture of the site is too polarizing."
"My response: No, we don't discriminate. All cultures are welcome on Rumble," Pavlovski said.
He explained that Rumble originally approached Dunkin' and its parent company, Inspired Brands, about advertisingbecause its audience "over indexes with coffee consumption."
Conservative social media users responded by using the hashtags #BoycottDunkinDonuts and #GoWokeGoBroke.
Prominent right-wing X account, Catturd, wrote: "So, companies like @DunkinDonuts are boycotting Rumble, and X, unless they drop all the truth tellers - Anyone else tired of this bulls--t?"
X useriAnonPatriot wrote "Time to give Dunkin' Donuts the Bud Light treatment. Go Woke, Go Broke." It has been viewed more than 200,000 times.
Rumble joined Elon Musk's X in filing a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) alleging the group carried out an illegal boycott and violated antitrust laws.
Some GARM members stopped advertising on the platform after Musk backed a user who claimed Jewish people had pushed “dialectical hatred” against White people. Musk at the time called it the “actual truth.”
Pavlovski wrote on X that the World Federation of Advertising was shutting down GARM two days after Rumble filed to sue them.
