When Cody Rhodes returned to WrestleMania last year, the WWE Universe got to see a new side of his character. The American Nightmare had changed everything about him, including his appearance. One of the most noticeable changes was the huge tattoo on his neck in blue, red, and white stripes. While that tattoo got some mixed reactions online, the WWE superstar has opened up about almost getting another tattoo years ago until he was advised against it by Kofi Kingston.

Cody Rhodes recently revealed on “My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox” that he wanted a tattoo of the Legacy logo. When asked about his former faction, Rhodes divulged, “I almost got a tattoo on my hand of the Legacy logo before the [WrestleMania] match. I want to say, and I hope I’m giving credit to the right guy, Kofi Kingston was the one who told me absolutely not to do that. I thought, okay… It was a pretty cool logo, but I didn’t get the tattoo, so Kofi was right.”

Legacy was a WWE faction during the early PG era, beginning in 2008. The group was led by Randy Orton, with Ted DiBiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes as a tag team. The faction broke up in 2010 after the Viper got frustrated with Rhodes and DiBiase. This resulted in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 226, which Orton won. Last year, Cody Rhodes had a brief reunion with his former faction mate when he tagged with the Apex Predator on an episode of Raw.
