ISP: Two arrests made in Cassia County after police find 120 pounds of marijuanna
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — Two people were arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking charges in Cassia County during a traffic stop Idaho State Police say.
ISP says 120 pounds of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
Police say Scott D. Hofer, 60, and Mary L. Lindbeck, 55, both of St. Paul, Minnesota, were traveling eastbound on I-86 in when ISP pulled them over for a traffic violation.
A Cassia County Sheriff's Office K-9 team arrived to the scene and a dog alerted officers to the vehicle, police say.
ISP says they also seized the vehicle and approximately $2,000 in cash and charged Hofer as a felon in possession of a firearm.
The pair was booked into the Cassia County Jail.
Idaho State Police says they have taken possession of more and more marijuana every year. In 2017, ISP says they seized 1,375 pounds of marijuana which is more than double the 507 pounds seized in 2016.
