Max Verstappen asserts he remains realistic over winning his home race at Zandvoort

Formula 1 returns this weekend after the summer break. The F1 paddock heads to Zandvoort for the Dutch GP, Max Verstappen‘s home race. The ‘Orange Army’ hopes to see the local hero stand on the top step of the podium this weekend. However, Verstappen highlighted that he was staying realistic for the weekend.

Max Verstappen emphasized that he needs to remain realistic over his winning prospects this weekend. The reigning world champion reckoned that he will undoubtedly go for the win if he has a shot on Sunday. The Dutch driver had mentioned that he would love to win the race in front of his home fans this weekend.

You just have to be realistic. If you can win the race of course you go for it.

On the other hand, Verstappen admitted that if he does not have a real chance to win the race, he would need to step back and accept that. The three-time world champion reckoned that in this regard, the driver must move on and try to improve in the next race.

If you don't have a chance then it's very simple, you don't deserve to win. You move on and you try to do better.
