WATCH: Keon Coleman lights up Buffalo Bills press conference with charismatic debut
If there was a prize for the best introductory press conference, then it would be given to Keon Coleman. If anyone had any doubts about whether the Florida State graduate could fit in Buffalo, then they would be proven wrong after the wide receiver knocked it out of the park on Saturday night.
The Bills traded their 28th overall pick to the Kansas City Chiefs, which the Bills Mafia hated. In return, Sean McDermott received the first pick on Day 2 and selected Seminoles speedster Keon Coleman.
During his visit to the Buffalo Bills facility at Orchard Park, he sat before the media to answer some questions. However, before it officially began, he explained his love for bargaining at Macy’s. A reporter asked him where he got his yellow coat from.
Macy's. They be on sale on the rack in all the colors. $79, $89, nice little' deal. You get the trench coat for like $100. I'll take you there personally. I might go get some more colors. I need a blue one and another red one.Keon Coleman replied
If anyone from Macy’s watched the social media video from Matt Bove of Coleman’s interview, which had more than 7 million views, then they should sign him up for some commercials. Per Spotrac, he is poised to sign a $10 million contract with a $4.1 million signing bonus as the 33rd overall pick.
Keon Coleman’s love for cookies was on full display
Last year it was mustard in coffee; this year it’s cookies. Even before the interview began, Coleman had his eyes on a jar full of cookies next to the stage. When the session was finally over, he ran straight towards them and helped himself with a few. But sources revealed he only ate half because of the sugar.
The Bills general manager, Brandon Beane, was ecstatic with the addition of Coleman.
Like, this young man is Buffalo. He is a dog. He's going to love to compete. The fans are going to love him.Brandon Beane said
Coleman played his final year at Florida State. In 12 games, he recorded 50 catches, 658 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns, earning all-ACC honors. Before transferring down south, the 20-year-old mentioned he played for Michigan State.
His basketball background gave him an advantage over his opponents during games. Per NFL.com, Coleman ran 40 yards in 4.61 seconds, posted a vertical jump of 38 inches, and was given a score of 6.25.
