What is the fastest speed achieved on a MotoGP bike in 2022?
MotoGP is a sport that constantly evolves and changes for the better. Over the years, constructors have spent massive amounts on the research and development of their bike in order to make it more aerodynamically sound and faster on the straights. This is all done in order to achieve optimal performance and have the best bike on the grid compared to the competitors.
As the years have gone by, MotoGP has kept getting faster as the top engineers and mechanics have been contributing to the amazing progress that has yielded the results so far. This two-wheeler class is the pinnacle of motorsport on two wheels so it’s no surprise that the bikes have gotten faster and faster over the course of the last few years. When you compare the top speeds of the bikes from a decade ago to today’s bikes, the difference in top speeds is massive.
In the 2022 Mugello GP, the top speed record was broken yet again. Previously the record was held by Johann Zarco who hit a staggering 362.4 kmph during FP4 of the Qatar GP. After that, it took almost a year for that record to be broken, but it finally did during the 2022 Italian GP held at the Mugello circuit. The track is known for its straights where the riders can unleash the full potential of their machines and that is exactly what Jorge Martin did a few months ago.

The 2022 MotoGP season has been a rollercoaster of emotions with Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia being title rivals. With a few races left to go, it looks like the Ducati Factory rider will take the championship home. Fabio and Yamaha did a great job but it seems like they have fallen off in pace in the second half of the season whilst Bagnaia has been on a massive charge.
