His total spending in this neighborhood has now increased to $24.7 million after he purchased his first home here for $9.7 million.
Scherzer and his wife Erica, are said to be planning to tear down their latest purchase. This 7,200-square-foot home comprises of five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a waterfront space of 325 feet.

The mansion spreads across 8,000 square feet and covers up to 180 feet of water frontage. The property also features a club room, primary suites, dual baths, and huge closets. The kitchen is nothing less than a 5-star hotel kitchen. The property belonged to newspaper publisher Robert Smylie, who shelled out $2.9 million to buy it in 1999.
The outdoors of this property features a large resort-style pool, a lounging area for relaxation, and a protected dock for a 70-foot-wide boat. This property played a major part in Scherzer’s decision to join the Mets for a historic $130 million deal. He lives here along with his wife Erica, his four kids, four rescue dogs, and two cats.

At the end of 2022, Scherzer splashed out $5.4 million on a luxurious home on Long Island. As per NY Post, he and his wife are planning to occupy this property in 2023. It seems Scherzer is certainly enjoying his time with New York Mets and is not backing down from using the money he is receiving from his wages, sponsorships, and endorsements. After moving away from the Washington Nationals, he sold his McLean property overlooking the Potomac River.
