Winter Weather Advisory begins Thursday, Winter Storm Watch Friday
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — There is a Winter Weather Advisory with snow expected for the Upper Treasure Valley Zone beginning 5:00 p.m. Thursday through 11:00 a.m. Friday morning.
Total snow accumulations of up to one inch is possible during the Winter Weather Advisory. Immediately following that is a Winter Storm Watch with heavy snow possible. An estimated 3-5 inches of snow accumulation is possible, with 8-15 inches possible over the mountains. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph are expected.
The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Friday morning through Sunday morning. The Treasure Valley will see snow turn into rain sometime on Saturday as temperatures rise. When exactly that change will occur is not yet certain, some models indicate Saturday morning and others show Saturday night.
